Abstract:Renewable energy investments are increasing day by day in our country and in the world. The energy industry is moving towards the integration of the traditional energy system of renewable energy sources. The priority in the countries' energy and climate policy objectives is the integration of renewable energy sources. Thus, the increasing demand will not only help to meet the power but will also be protected from the negative effects of the fossil fuels used. This will affect the existing network infrastructure and system operation. The distribution systems connection of Wind Power Plant (WPP) which one the renewable sources is rapidly increasing thanks to the technological developments in the wind turbine (WT) devices and the incentives in state policies. However, increasing costs of connection and renovation made it necessary for investors to consider a range of design options and to make detailed analyses of each option's impact on the system based on various assumptions. For example, normal and abnormal working conditions, full capacity operation and peak loads are the leading ones. On the other hand, power system stability is a major concern in the field of power systems due to voltage collapse. Stability analysis is important to design and develop the electricity grid. Therefore, various power networks are analyzed to operate in a stable region. The behavior of the wind turbine influences power quality during grid fault scenarios. With power flow and short circuit analysis, problems that industrial systems may encounter before installation and during operation can be solved. These results can be taken into account in the projects to be done. Power flow analysis is a numerical analysis of the electric power flow in the system. The purpose of this analysis is to obtain complete information on the angle and magnitude of the voltage for each bus in a power system located under a certain load, generator power, and voltage conditions. In addition, the integrated system is not sufficient for stability. The effects of short circuit faults on the behavior of the power system should be determined by simulation. Thus, possible errors can be predetermined. A short circuit analysis in the power grid provides the possibility to safely clean the fault currents that may occur in the system. In this thesis study, power flow and short circuit analysis are applied to the designed system. For the analysis to be close to the real results, real-valued average wind speed data, wind turbine design and Çanakkale Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ) busbar's grid information was used. IEEE 14 bus test system is selected for network analysis. The simulation was performed with the help of power systems analysis program (ETAP). The working conditions of the network in different situations (full capacity, minimum capacity, summer period, and winter period) are examined. The energy production and consumption values between the power produced in WPP and the demand power were compared. The results are intended to contribute to the WPP feasibility studies in the Çanakkale region, where the wind energy potential is high. Due to the increase in the share of wind energy generation among other energy sources, the timely correction of the weak busbars and demanding corrective actions for the grid are of great importance in the future energy systems.
