Biography
Dr. Akdoğan graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Electrical and Electronics Faculty, Electronics and Communication Engineering Department in 1999. He completed his master's and doctoral studies at Marmara University, where he worked as a Research Assistant. During his doctoral studies, he worked on the Design, Production and Artificial Intelligence-based control of Rehabilitation Robots. Between 2008-2009, he was in the Biological Systems Engineering Research Laboratory at Hiroshima University, Japan for post-doctoral research. In 2010, he started working as a faculty member at Yıldız Technical University Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Department of Mechatronics Engineering. He worked as a consultant for many research projects, scientific publications, undergraduate and graduate levels in the field of medical mechatronics in the Biomechatronics Research Laboratory, and also received many patents, utility models and industrial design registrations. He became the Founding Manager of the Biomechatronics and Robotic Systems Application and Research Center, which was established in Yıldız Technical University in July 2020 to operate with a focus on medical technologies, robotics, and artificial intelligence. Since September-2020, he has been the president of the Health Institute of Turkiye.
His research interests include medical device design, physical therapy and rehabilitation robots, biological signal processing and artificial intelligence. He has won 1st prize in health categories in many technology-focused competitions. He is married and has a daughter, Dr. Akdogan is also a scout leader with the degree of Scouting and Guiding Federation of Turkey's assistant leader trainer.
