Mustafa Ustuner is a PhD candidate in Geomatic Engineering at Yildiz Technical University, Turkey. His research interests include SAR Polarimetry, machine learning for image classification and ensemble learning algorithms. He is the member of IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS), ISPRS - International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing and Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Society (RSPSoc). He serves as a reviewer for the journals such as IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, International Journal of Remote Sensing, Remote Sensing Letters, Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, Journal of Applied Remote Sensing and European Journal of Remote Sensing.
He received the award for Top Reviewers for Geosciences - September 2018 from Publons. Furthermore, he voluntarily works for the IEEE GRSS as the social media ambassador lead as well as the social media coordinator for ISPRS Student Consortium. He loves tweeting about remote sensing, geoscience and space technology.
He was short term visiting scholar at University of South Florida, St. Petersburg (USFSP), United States during his master's studies in 2013 and was a visiting researcher at Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena, Germany during his doctoral research in 2018.
After his PhD, he will start working at Department of Geomatic Engineering of Artvin Çoruh University, Turkey.
