The development of deformations in the dense urban areas will be determined using PSI method for the last 4
years over a large study area. Many deformation phenomena
such as earthquakes and landslides happened in the last decades.
They caused several damages not only to human lives but
also to human settlements and natural area. With this
research project, how the deformation is distributed over
the study area will be investigated. This research is questioning the relationship between geological
structure and deformation phenomena are. For this purpose,
Persistent Scatterer Interferometry(PSI) method will be
applied. Investigation of the behavior of deformation in
time and triggering factors of deformation will be the
innovative feature of the project. This will lead to
organizing planned urbanization and infrastructure activities in one of the world's megacities Istanbul. The
results would be useful for a further vulnerability analysis for a high populated megacity.
