ISTANBUL CITY PLANNING TRAINING AND CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
The aim of the capacity development project (Urban Planning Training and Capacity Development Program for Resilient Istanbul), one of the two projects determined for Istanbul within the program, is to design a new generation model for disaster and participation in urban planning practice for a resilient and sustainable Istanbul. For this purpose, participation will be provided in a multilingual manner through different channels, primarily digital (mobile applications, websites, etc.) and analog (call centers, petitions, face-to-face interaction, etc.), within the framework of the municipality's "open government system", and a model design will be provided for the information obtained to be collected under an easily accessible, inclusive and transparent roof. The model in question will aim for a two-way production and sharing of information, and will be designed in a way that will ensure the "proactive participation" of Istanbul residents and visitors (citizens, immigrants, tourists, disadvantaged groups, NGOs, private sector, etc.) in the entire planning process, starting from the first stage and including post-plan monitoring and feedback stages. The system will be designed for all the participant profiles mentioned above and those who benefit from the system administratively (IMM units), and support will be provided in developing a model proposal and testing it with application packages in a sample area.
