Özet

In this study, the characteristics of roll damping for two types of the hull (PCC: Pure Car Carrier

and LNGC: Liquefied Natural Gas Carrier) were investigated experimentally. Their draught is

shallower and the height of the centre of gravity is lower than those of the ships which exist when

Ikeda's method was developed. Their roll damping was measured to investigate their characteristics,

and the measured results were compared with the estimated results by Ikeda’s method. Moreover,

the measured results were compared with the estimated results by the modified Ikeda’s method

which has some modifications related to the effects of the draught and height of the centre of

gravity, and the applicability of the modified method was verified.
