Acoustic Metamaterials Research Group

Acoustic Metamaterials Research Group (AMRG) performs research on acoustic metasurfaces and metamaterials. These extraordinary materials, which have not been found in nature, provide unusual acoustic performances, such as acoustic cloaking, focusing, negative reflection and transmission. The metamaterials are used in many research areas from engineering to architecture.

We are currently investigating the acoustic metamaterials which have sound absorption and insulation properties. Our interdisciplinary research group is composed of researchers from Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Naval Marine Engineering Operations and Harbour, Coastal and Offshore Engineering departments.
