Building Physics Research Group (BPRG) aims
to carry out studies and offer solutions to provide physical comfort (thermal, visual and auditory comfort) conditions considering volume scale to urban scale,
to use energy efficiently while creating a healthy and comfortable physical environment,
to be sustainable while providing suitable conditions in terms of physical environment elements such as heat-humidity, light-color, sound.
Study Subjects:
Heat-Humidity (Thermal comfort, Building energy performance, Solar and wind control)
Lighting (Architectural lighting, Color, Daylighting)
Acoustics (Volume acoustics, Noise control, Urban Acoustics)
Building Energy Performance
BPRG is actively working towards the following Sustainable Development Goals, which are aimed to be achieved by the United Nations member countries by the end of 2030:
Goal 7: Accessible clean energy
Goal 11: Sustainable cities and communities
Goal 12: Responsible production and consumption
Goal 13: Climate action
BPRG, in line with the Eleventh Development Plan of the Republic of Turkey (2019-2023);
It carries out studies on digital transformation, R&D, innovation and construction, engineering-architecture, technical consultancy and contracting services within the scope of Competitive Production and Efficiency target, and
urbanization, housing, urban transformation and environmental protection within the scope of Livable Cities, Sustainable Environment target.
Related Disciplines: City and Regional Planning, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Interior Architecture, Physics…
Building Physics Laboratory: Established in 1978, the laboratory provides services mainly on Lighting and Color, along with Heat and Acoustics. It is used in graduate education, research studies, measurement-experiment fields, and can also respond to requests from private and public institutions outside the institution.
Building Physics Graduate Program: It consists of Master's with Thesis, Master's without Thesis, Doctorate and Integrated Doctorate programs.
