Hakkımızda

YTU glass research group concentrates on the study of basic properties, glass formations and structures of different glass systems (e.g., tellurite, antimonite, silicate systems) to discover their potential to be used in several functional applications related to energy, environment, and advanced communications systems. The group also studies heavy metal oxide glasses as transparent large band gap semiconductors, sol-gel based functional thin films (i.e., thermochromic, anti-reflective and self-cleaning coatings), radiation shielding glasses, photosensitive glasses for holographic data recording, chemically strengthened ultra-thin glasses, lanthanide and quantum dot-doped glasses for WLEDs, anti-counterfeiting applications, and 3D displays etc.

Our group philosophy is to establish an inspiring and nurturing habitat for each other, so that every member can reach to his or her fullest potential and discover the unknowns of the world from a scientific point of view.

Our overall goal is to make original and innovative contributions to the glass science and engineering community by developing or improving new glasses and glass-ceramics with improved functionalities.
