 XII-SUMMARY EXAMINATION OF HEITOR VILLA-LOBOS' ETUDES FOR GUITAR In this study, I examined Villa-Lobos' etudes for guitar, one by one, from the technical, analy tical and interpretational point of views. I tried to do, this, generally, by viewing Brezilian music, Villa-Lobos' music and his understanding of the instruments as a whole. At the same time, the important guitarists interpretation of his music enlightened my path. Other than this, I tried to comment on particular problems, such as notation, creaking of the string, etc. -55-
