In this paper, we study some properties of a family of nonchain rings and we obtain one Lee weight optimal codes over this ring. Moreover, by defining a distance-preserving map from this family of nonchain rings to finite fields and extending this map to codes over these rings we obtain one Hamming weight codes over fields. In addition, we give an application of these codes to secret sharing schemes and we determine minimal access sets of these codes. Finally, we give a theorem that characterizes dictatorial participants in a secret sharing scheme.
