Özet:
This study examines the changes in Turkiye’s market share in its export markets from 2003 to 2019. Using a constant market share (CMS) analysis, this study dissects the variations in Turkiye’s market share into two distinct components: market-related effects and commodity-related effects. The study period has been segmented into two distinct sub-groups: 2003-2013 and 2014-2019. Turkiye’s international trade with its primary trading partners, focusing on the top 10 export markets ranked by export performance, is analyzed using SITC Rev.3 one-digit and two-digit data. Upon evaluating the CMS analysis components, including market share effect, commodity composition effect, and commodity adaptation effect, the findings indicate that the rise in Turkiye’s export performance was attributed to a positive market share effect in the first period. Additionally, the commodity composition effect has a positive role in both periods, whereas the commodity adaptation effect contributed to the increase in export performance specifically during the first period.
