Özet:
Urban parks, serving as the green lungs of cities, offer numerous potential benefits to their users. Landscape preference has always been at the heart of landscape research, especially the intricate relationship between landscape features and preferences. Increasingly, studies are leveraging social media data to analyse such preferences; some scholars have compared the landscape preferences of social media users to those of on-site survey respondents through photo content analysis. This study specifically examines the landscape preferences of social media users and uses a mixed-methods approach to delve deeply into the significant effects of social media usage and individual differences on landscape preference. The findings indicate that familiarity leads to some differences in landscape preference attributes, but its overall impact on landscape preference is limited. Moreover, while social media does influence the landscape preferences of its users, the scenic photos they post do not necessarily fully represent their actual preferences, a result of various factors interplaying. This research underscores that, compared to a singular research method, a mixed-methods approach offers notable advantages in terms of comprehensiveness, data validation, and deriving more profound conclusions. In today's context of widespread social media usage, focusing on its users for urban park landscape preference research infuses traditional landscape preference studies with a fresh perspective and dimension. This provides invaluable insights for the planning and design of future urban parks.
