Hale Özkasım is currently a full time lecturer at the Art Department, Faculty of Art and Design, Yıldız Technical University. She completed her undergraduate studies at the department of Archeology and Art History at Mimar Sinan University and her graduate studies in Museum Studies Gradute Program, Yıldız Technical University, being the first academic program of Turkey on museology. She conducted her doctoral research at Istanbul Technical University and received her PhD degree in 2004.
Being a lecturer of the Art Department at the Faculty of Art and Design since 2005 she also served as the Coordinator of Museum Studies Graduate Program (2005-2011), Assistant Director of the Institute of Social Sciences (2006-2010) and, Assistant Director of the Art Department at the Faculty of Art and Design (2008-2013).
Her research focuses on museums and museology, development of museology training, collections management in museums and museum management. She also has papers presented at national and international seminars, articles and publications on the same topics.
Besides lecturing at the undergraduate and graduate level and being project and thesis advisor at the YTU Hale Özkasım continues her researches and studies on museum works in Turkey to be considered as a profession, on development of museology training as well as on putting into practice and generalizing of collections management in Turkey museums.
