Biography
After graduating from high school in Marseille,
Pascale Roure studied Philosophy and Germanistics in Paris (Sorbonne University) and Berlin (Humboldt University), where she wrote
her Ph.D. thesis on Fritz Mauthner’s critique of language (2015). She worked as
the philosophy and sociology teacher at Galatasaray High School (2014-2018) and
then as a post-doctoral associate researcher at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal until 2022. As a visiting researcher at Istanbul
University (2018-2021), she conducted her DFG-funded research project “German Geist on the Bosphorus” on the reception of ontology and philosophical anthropology at Istanbul
University. Her post-doctoral research has focused on the history of philosophy, philology
and social sciences in Turkey from a transnational perspective, with a
particular interest in historiographical and epistemological issues.
