The First International Conference on Basalt Fibers and Composites, ICBFC-2019 Nov. 16-18 Nanjing - China , Nanjing, Çin, 16 - 18 Kasım 2019, ss.1-4
In this study, the effects of pozzolanic
ingredients such as ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS), nano-clay
(NC), metakaolin (MK) are investigated in basalt fibre cementitious composites
(BRC). Basalt fibers (BF) were used in high volumetric ratio (2%). The
variation of flexural characteristics are addressed from early days (3 days) to
long term (120 days) curing periods. Durability aspect of BRC in harsh
conditions is another issue regarding heat-rain aging tests. The initial
experiments on control samples (100% cement) indicated that the hydration
deposits accumulated on basalt fibers and made the pull-out mechanism
difficult. The main target is to save the flexural characteristics even in harsh
environmental conditions. After the detailed experimental studies, it is
revealed that especially MK usage promises to enhance the durability performance
of BRC. It is evident that the implications from these experiments are valid
for basalt fibre reinforced concrete (BFRC) as well.
