Abstract

Tuned liquid dampers are passive dampers with low maintenance cost and high durability. They are good
candidates for structural application to damp the undesired vibration due to high wind load and even reinforcing the
building under higher dynamic loadings like earthquakes. In this study the frequency response of rectangular shaped
tuned liquid dampers are investigated experimentally under sinusoidal loading. The Lissajous curves are used to
illustrate the phase shift under different loading conditions.
