Özet

People's lifestyle, the environment they live in and the products they use cause changes in their gene expression. Changes in living conditions have a direct impact on the body. One of the most affected processes is the aging process. In our research we examined the effect of curcumin in the aging process of human skin fibroblasts. Aging is directly related to many changes in the cell. DNA is exposed to changes such as shortening of telomeres, chromatin changes, DNA methylation, and some of these changes can be used as biomarkers. Within the scope of this research, the effect of curcumin (which is known to be anti-aging in dermal fibroblasts) in the expression level of target gene is analyzed. Two groups were used; the control group not treated with any agent and the experimental group exposed to the anti-aging agent (curcumin). Normal ageing process will be used, followed by total RNA isolation from the cells incubated under appropriate conditions and then the expression level of the target gene, HAS2 analyze is done by using real-time polymerase chain reaction.
