Özet

The main purpose of this study is to investigate and compare the mechanical properties of dissimilar materials welded using TIG method with different welding currents. The materials in this study are 16Mo3 and P235GH which are used especially in manufacturing the power plants boiler parts. 16Mo3 material is used to manufacture the steam tube walls of the boilers. The tubes used in this study have 139.7 mm diameter and 7.66 mm wall thickness values. Butt welding of dissimilar materials was applied with two different welding current range and welded parts were tested to investigate the mechanical properties. The first welding scenario had lower welding currents of 110A-130A, the second welding scenario had higher welding currents of 130A-160A. In both joints, pipes had same diameters and wall thickness values and had the same Y joint design. In order to investigate the effects of different welding currents on mechanical properties, some mechanical tests were applied to the welded samples. Those tests were; bend test, tensile stress test, Charpy impact tests with different temperatures, hardness test and macro and micro examinations.
