Özet

Although Spatial Quality Satisfaction (SQS) is important for evaluating student dormitories, empirical research examining it as a multidimensional construct remains limited. Adoptinga socio-spatial post-occupancy evaluation (POE) framework, this study examines overall SQSand 10 dimensions across 10 variables: gender, age, field of study, class level, degree level, campus location, family’s region of residence, dormitory of residence, duration of residence, and floor level. Data were collected from 450 students in five state-run dormitories in Kırklareli,Türkiye. Proportionate stratified sampling was used. Group differences were analyzed using t-tests, one-way or Welch ANOVA, and post hoc tests. Nine variables, excluding floor level, showed significant differences in overall SQS and/or its dimensions. Dormitory of residenceshowed the broadest pattern; post hoc analyses identified one smaller-capacity dormitoryrelatively close to the city center as having the highest overall SQS and significantly higherscores than the others in spatial organization, comfort, facilities, visual quality, and emotionaland psychological atmosphere. Campus location, field of study, and gender were associatedwith differences across several dimensions. These findings suggest prioritizing connections tocampuses, transportation, and urban facilities; clear building organization and suitable envir-onmental and safety conditions; adaptable rooms and common spaces; and visual, social, andpsychological qualities
