Language is the tool used to convey knowledge and emotions, we investigate the role of language and emotions in enhancing education and prevent school dropping.

The use of gendered language can perpetuate gender inequality, leading to biased treatment towards a particular gender. Our group contributes to this goal by investigating harmful stereotypes and gendered language from a philological and a translation study perspective.

Cities have been shaped by the communities that have lived there and the new communities that arrive due to conflicts or poor economies. Our group investigates the relation between the city and the community from a socio-linguistic and translational perspective. With a translational city perspective, our group also explores how sites of translation and language are formed, evolved, developed or declined, and transform the urban space and redefine the urban experience by responding to intersecting social and cultural relations.

The group investigates how topics such as peace, justice, and environmental justice are vehiculated by mass media and the role of professional linguists, translators, and translation scholars in promoting this specific goal.
