The excitation and emission spectra of CsCdCl3 crystal grown by the Bridgman growth technique, are
observed. Its dominant excitation spectra correspond to the transitions between the electronic energy
levels of the face-shared [CdCl6]4 octahedron complexes with C3v symmetry. With the help of the
molecular orbital diagram of the [CdCl6]4 molecule complex, an approximate electronic energy level
diagram of this crystal is constructed using one-electron approximation.
