The influence of the inhomogeneous initial thermal stresses caused by the heating or cooling of the inner and outer surfaces of a hollow bilayered cylinder on dispersion of torsional waves propagating in this cylinder is studied. The study is performed within the scope of the second version of the 3D linearized theory of elastic waves in initially stressed bodies, according to which the initial inhomogeneous thermal stresses are determined within the scope of the classical uncoupled linear theory of thermoelasticity. The equations related to the propagation of torsional waves are solved by a discrete-analytical method, and the numerical results found are presented and discussed.
