Nowadays, high-performance communication systems are needed due to the rapid increase in the number of mobile users and the demand for better quality communication in relation to the development of technology. The reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) technology, which has emerged recently and reduces the disruptive effects of the wireless fading channel, and the double spatial modulation (DSM) technique, which significantly increases the data rate and system performance compared to traditional communication systems, are important systems that aim to meet the demands and needs mentioned above. In this study, a new system, which is obtained by combining the DSM technique and RIS technology in a multiple-input single-output (MISO) system called DSM-RIS for short, is proposed. The performance analysis of the proposed system is performed on Rayleigh fading channels using 𝑀-QAM modulation for different reflecting surfaces and transmit antenna numbers. Also, the performance of the proposed DSM-RIS system has been compared with the important counterpart systems in the literature and it has been observed that it provides a better error performance than other systems in the same spectral efficiency.
