Today, series-hybrid drving systems come to the forefront because of the need for the
development of battery technology in electric driven vehicles. In this study, a single-cylinder
diesel engine is used experimentally, the experimental values is adapted and modelled to 5-
cylinder diesel engine in computer environment and the obtained result is analyzed for diesel
fuel and diesel fuel-hybrid driving system. Firstly, the results of the sample vehicle model by
running in specified driving cycles are obtained based on diesel fuel operating conditions.
Afterwards, by configurating seri-hybrid vehicle model, the effect s of the operation of diesel
fuel and serie-hybrid drive on fuel consumption and emissions are investigated. On the other
hand, the performance maps by specifying the most suitable operating points and modelling in
computer environment with regards to both NOx-Smoke and thermal efficiency-power are
created and the operating range of the ICE and the hybrid driving system is determined. As a
result, it is cocluded that the improvements in emission norms and fuel consumption as is seen
from specified vehicle model.
