Özet

Natural disasters are high-impact, low-probability events that can cause significant damage to utility grids, resulting in widespread power outages. These disruptions not only affect critical infrastructures but also the well-being of occupants in residential buildings. To mitigate these problems, distributed energy resources (DERs), such as photovoltaic systems, electric vehicles, etc., offer promising solutions to enhance resiliency in post-disasters. However, the availability of DERs does not always maintain to the desired demand. Considering the limitations, demand-side management becomes critical for ensuring efficient energy utilization. Therefore, in this study, home energy management system (HEMS) based on mixed integer linear programming (MILP) is proposed to enhance energy resilience by preventing power interruptions while considering well-being of households in post-disasters. The algorithm categorizes loads into different load levels determining their post-disaster criticality of appliances. The results demonstrate that, despite grid outages, the proposed MILP based algorithm ensures a continuous power supply to the households by effectively utilizing existing DERs throughout the post-disaster.
