Abstract

This study presents how to parallelize a current serial program solving 2D and 3D frame structures with examples. A parallelization of the serial program is handled by considering a parallel computer system with distributed memory that uses a parallel programming model, MPI. Before parallelization, the serial program is modified according to a methodology called “Substructure Method”. It is pointed out that a parallel process is able to save computation time, regarding of serial process highly time-consuming, and that the arrangement taking substructure method into consideration gets efficiency for sequential computation.
