Highlights A modified electrode was prepared for the purpose of determining the concentration of PN. A novel electrochemical sensor has been fabricated utilizing P-doped CuO/PGE, which has been formed by the over-oxidation of copper nanoparticles. The characterization of the P-doped CuO/PGE was conducted through the use of CV, EIS FESEM, FTIR, and XPS techniques. The prepared electrode demonstrated electrocatalytic activity towards PN oxidation. The analytical application of the electrode was successfully tested in real samples.
