Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the empathic tendencies of prospective clothing teachers. The study group of the study consisted of day and evening freshmen and senior students attending the Clothing Teaching Programmes at the Vocational Education Faculties of Gazi and Selcuk Universities. The "personal information form" and "Empathic Tendency Scale" (ETS) were used as data collection tools. Variance analysis and t test were used to analyse the data obtained in the study. As a result of the analysis of the empathic tendencies of the prospective teachers, a significant difference was discovered only in the independent variable of gender. (C) 2009 Elsevier Ltd.
