12th International Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Conference, 3 - 05 Haziran 2016
Nano-sized calcium deficient hydroxyapatite (CDHA) powders with an average particle size less than 100 nm were prepared by a coprecipitation method at low temperature. The initial Ca/P ratio was chosen the stoichiometric ratio of β-TCP (1.45-1.50). Additionally, lowering
temperature and pH values accelerated HPO4
2− incorporation in the CDHA structure. HPO4
2− is considered as an essential source for β-TCP
formation. Sulfate ion doping during the maturation period is proved to be an effective step to eliminate the pyrophosphate P2O7
2− phase. Pure
phase β-TCP was obtained from CDHA at 900 and 1100 0C.
