In genetic algorithms, binary encoding and value encoding are mostly used encoding types to represent structural characteristics of problems. In this study, in addition to these encoding types, effects of different encoding types such as ternary encoding, quaternary encoding, etc. on optimum solution and convergence of the algorithm including these encoding types are discussed. In the design, the specification, AISCASD, is taken into account. It is concluded that the use of different encoding types have advantage over using only one encoding type in the genetic algorithm.
