This study evaluates the production efficiency and cost optimization of an industrial-scale facility designed to manufacture 113,390 Type IV hydrogen storage tanks annually. The total raw material cost decreases from €60 to €26.3 per kilogram of tank weight as the tank mass increases from 26 kg to 180 kg for 700-bar configurations with a single valve and top opening. The raw material cost for storing one kilogram of hydrogen ranges between €1,560.5/kg H₂ and €683.2/kg H₂, reflecting improved cost efficiency with larger storage volumes. The production cost of hydrogen storage tanks with a single valve and top opening is estimated at €2,139.6/kg H₂ for a 26 kg tank and €766.8/kg H₂ for a 180 kg tank, showing an approximate threefold variation. For dual-valve configurations, this difference increases to about 3.5, ranging from €3,165.1/kg H₂ to €914.9/kg H₂, emphasizing the critical impact of tank capacity and valve configuration on cost efficiency.
