Özet

The present study introduces a new joint apparatus to eliminate the mentioned disadvantage and bring new advantages to the relevant technical field, especially when to be used in the buildings. The joint apparatus consists of two outer plates, at least an inner plate, friction member(s), elastomer(s), master pin, additional bolt(s), and stiffness member(s). The master pin and the additional bolt(s) are subjected to pretension force so that friction member(s) carry frictional force. Moreover, the apparatus can rotate about the master pin. Using elastomer in the apparatus increases the secant stiffness of the connection. The apparatus can be applied in the connection of the structural members, such as steel beam-to-column connections, link members of the eccentrically braced frames. The numerical results show that the beam-to-column connections including the seismic joint apparatus provides well moment-rotation curves without strength loss and damage in the connected members and the joint apparatus until the story drift of 10% radian. For the seismic joint apparatus, the patent process in the presence of TÜRKPATENT is currently progressing.
