Özet

The aim of this study is to provide a theoretical foundation and a solution algorithm for the application of active piezoelectric patches in controlling a simply supported beam under a moving mass, traveling along a detecting path. Two piezoelectric actuators are bonded along the bottom of the beam at different locations determined by the minimization of a predetermined cost functional. A solution algorithm for this optimization problem is suggested using the method of the eigenfunction expansion and calculus of variations. Numerical simulations are performed with respect to different constant velocities and different moving masses.
