Ship fires occupy a significant place among ship accidents. Fires occurring during the transportation of flammable, explosive, and combustible materials on cargo ships can turn into an environmental disaster. Therefore, eliminating risks that may arise in ship design, shipbuilding, and ship refueling is extremely important. In this study, after presenting some ship fires that have occurred in the past, the basic precautions that should be taken for each of these topics are briefly explained. In this way, an attempt is made to draw the attention of those involved to the issue in order to eliminate ship fires.
