Özet
Ring resonator-based optical filters are key components in Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) systems due to their frequency selectivity and compact design. Although the designs of Butterworth and Chebyshev optical filters are well-established in the literature, the reliability of their performance under realistic manufacturing constraints remains a challenge. In this study, high-order Chebyshev optical filters designed using step-index fibre couplers have been analysed. Here, the filters were examined using the Unified Error Model, which simultaneously accounts for coupling coefficients, waveguide losses and phase errors. In light of Monte Carlo simulations, quantitative signal integrity metrics such as the maximum Q-factor and eye height have been determined in conjunction with manufacturing tolerances. The results obtained demonstrate that the proposed design maintains a safe margin with a zero error rate up to tolerance levels of 5%, and provides a design guideline for nextgeneration optical networks.
