The efficient storage and utilization of hydrogen
energy are crucial for the advancement of clean energy technologies. Sodium
borohydride (NaBH4), a promising hydrogen carrier, has gained
attention for its potential in hydrogen generation through hydrolysis. This study
provides a comprehensive overview of the research landscape concerning g-C3N4-based
catalysts for hydrogen production, focusing on trends and developments from
2009 to December 2024. Through the systematic evaluation of publication
volumes, thematic shifts, and the evolution of key keywords, the study offers
valuable insights into the field's emerging priorities. Additionally, the
analysis identifies leading countries and institutions driving global research
efforts, highlighting significant contributions to g-C3N4
catalyst development. The study also uncovers a notable research gap related to
the application of NaBH4 in hydrogen production, with only 47
publications published on this topic up to December 2024. This finding
emphasises the necessity for additional exploration and research in this field
to bridge the existing gap and optimise hydrogen production technologies.
