Özet

It is known very well that hydropower energy is a type of the most important

renewable energy in the world, and of course its positive impacts on the

environment should not be ignored.

However large dams provide great and reliable power supply and benefits for

irrigation and flood protection, but they require high cost and can cause some

environmental problems. In this case, small hydro energy capacity is

considered that to be an important role on Turkish economy and

environmental issues.

Hydroelectric energy has an important place in energy sector is generated

from 26 main Basins in Turkey. Sakarya Basin is one of the most important

water resource in Turkey. However, hydroelectric energy production by

utilizing these rivers has not reached the desired level yet in the basin.

In this study, hydro energy potential has been determined in the Sakarya

Basin by using trend analysis. While it is applied trend analysis Mann

Kendall Test, Spearman’s Rho Test, Sen’s Slope formulas are used with

Delphi 7.0 programming in this study also.
