Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) carrier frequency synchronization performance under low SNR can be improved by using diversity. In this paper, we investigate the improvement in synchronization performance using real data obtained on the Stevens wireless testbed. The experimental setup is comprised of a wideband 65 Msamples/second digital to analog converter, a radio frequency (RF) transmitter which transmits at 2.4 GHz frequency with 12 MHz bandwidth and two RF receiver chains whose outputs are sampled at 65 Msamples/sec. Therefore, the receiver can oversample both in time and in space. The sensitivity of the diversity method to sampling clock and calibration errors are discussed.
