Abstract

In this study, the behavior of the underground structures undergone to seismic earthquake loads was studied in closed differential equations and in numerical methods, and the comparative results were presented. A circular tunnel liner was considered in soft and weathered rock materials and in soft soil ground media and analyses were executed. The results of the analyses were found compatible, and the results of the numerical analyses for the non-linear behavior of the materials undergone to earthquake loads, under above mentioned surrounding ground conditions, were found more consistent compared with the solutions based on elastic material behavior such as Simplified Deformation Analysis, Free Field Shear Strain Approach, Simplified Frame Method and Pseudo-static Analysis.
