In this paper, we investigate the performance of generalized frequency divison multiplexing (GFDM) employing maximal ratio transmission (MRT) over the Nakagami-m fading channel. Symbol error rate (SER) expression of the GFDM-MRT system over the Nakagami-m fading channel is derived by using the statistics of signal-to-noise power ratio. Simulation results for several antenna numbers and fading parameters are presented and our analytical findings are verified. We claim that GFDM-MRT can be a reliable, low-complexity and practical option for next-generation high-speed communication systems.
