Abstract

Purpose - An investigation of drilling temperature is essential in understanding the drilling mechanism of the material, thus improving the process efficiency. The aim of this study is to experimentally investigate influences of drilling conditions such as the drilling depth, feed rate and spindle speed on the twist drill bit temperature and thrust force in the dry drilling of AISI 1040 steel material using statistical techniques.
