In the combustion engine, the ring-cylinder liner friction constitutes a large part of the
total friction losses. Therefore, the friction between the piston-cylinder will affect the
overall engine efficiency and therefore the exhaust gas emissions. In this study, piston
ring-cylinder liner friction in two different temperature points on a piston ring-cylinder
liner test setup which is working at different speeds is investigated. In the experiments,
the effects of different amounts of lubricating oil-fuel mixtures on the friction were
investigated. As a result of the study, it was seen that the lubricant lubrication varied
under different conditions.
