Abstract

This review aims to present a summary of the experimental and numerical latest published works regarding the heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of single-phase liquid flow in the triple pipe heat exchangers with various factors and under different conditions. Investigations on flow in triple pipe heat exchangers have been summarized, and it is determined that heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of the flow in the triple pipe are better than those in double pipe heat exchangers. In addition, works on the influence of employing nanofluid in triple pipe heat exchangers have been assessed, and it is realized that using nanofluid has a positive influence on the heat transfer in triple pipe heat exchangers.
