Özet

Coumarins are important class of compounds in organic chemistry. Their important biological activities1 such as anticoagulant, antibiotic, antioxidant, anti-inflamatory, antitumor, anti-Alzheimer, anti-HIV and high sensitivity for metal ions as fluorescent sensors2,3 attract the researcher’s interest for pharmaceutical and environmental researches. They are widely used as additives in food, perfumes, agrochemicals, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.1 Various metal ions are important for human body in biological processes, some of them such as copper, iron and zinc are necessary for biological processes, but most of them may be toxic at high concentrations. For example, Cu2+ can make some nerodegenerative disseases as Alzheimer, Cd2+ and Hg2+ are potential carcinogenic and mutagenic metal ions. Therefore, to use of fluorescent techniques for detection of metal ions provide advantageous such as high sensitivity, high response time, low cost and simple procedure. So, the synthesis of coumarin derivatives have received an increasing attention to synthetic organic chemists.

In this study, new chiral imine compounds containing coumarin structure which can be used as fluorescent sensor and also have biological activity were synthesized, characterized and their properties were investigated.
