In this research, it is investigated whether Thinking Education course, which is aimed at gaining the students thinking skills, will have a positive or negative effect on the success of Social Studies course in terms of skills. During the research, the change of students' perceptions of thinking education course was examined. In the light of the findings and at the end of the application process, it was observed that students gained a significant awareness about their thinking skills. It was also observed that it has a positive impact on the students' thinking and decision-making processes.In the study, true experimental method is used as an experimental method, and of the true experimental methods, “pretest – posttest control group design” is applied.
Through qualitative and quantitative data obtained, the effects of thinking training lesson to social studies were demonstrated. For the results, recommedations have been developed on how social studies would be associated with the thinking training lesson. By including thinking education course in the study, this study is one of the first studies in the area of research in terms of research scope.
