Abstract
The Covid-19 outbreak has caused negative effects in the transportation industry, as in all
sectors. Due to bans, restrictions, panic and fear, the share of transport has decreased in all modes. The
contraction in production, sales and purchasing caused a decrease in the amount of cargo transported
by sea and a decrease in the number of ships used. In the study, by giving examples from some
countries, the amount of contraction caused by the pandemic in sea transportation is focused on.
