Abstract

The Covid-19 outbreak has caused negative effects in the transportation industry, as in all

sectors. Due to bans, restrictions, panic and fear, the share of transport has decreased in all modes. The

contraction in production, sales and purchasing caused a decrease in the amount of cargo transported

by sea and a decrease in the number of ships used. In the study, by giving examples from some

countries, the amount of contraction caused by the pandemic in sea transportation is focused on.
