In this paper, environmental effects of construction and operation of a Ro-Ro port on sample zone are
studied. It is not possible for a facility or transportation mode to have zero impact on the environment. Avoiding
any construction of facilities because of the environmental effects is not rational. It is important that
environmental effects remain within the acceptable limits. In this study, operation of a sample Ro-Ro facility is
evaluated in terms of environmental effects. Then the situation assessment of the environmental effects on the
road where heavy vehicles are distributed is carried out. Thus, consequential losses and benefits are examined as
a whole and the advantages of Ro-Ro transportation are determined.
