Özet

The increasing demand for biocompatible materials has made the modification of synthetic polymers with natural components an important area of research. In this study, a novel biocomposite material was developed by incorporating collagen extracted from sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) scales and laboratory-synthesized hydroxyapatite into a Bis-EMA-based resin matrix. The parameters of the collagen extraction process were optimized, while in hydroxyapatite synthesis, the stoichiometric ratio was preserved and the effects of pH and yield were investigated. The resulting biocomposite resin was reinforced with barium alumino-borosilicate glass, cured, and its mechanical properties were evaluated through flexural and compressive strength tests. The results demonstrated that the incorporation of collagen and hydroxyapatite positively influenced the mechanical performance of the material, indicating that the developed system has potential for biocompatible applications, particularly in 3D printing resins.
